The "Vial of Life"
In an emergency being prepared can make a life saving difference.
San Jose Fire Department
“The Vial of LIFE is Lifesaving Information For
Emergencies. It's a place for you to store important medical information
that emergency medical personnel (firefighters, paramedics, and hospital
staff) need in a time of crisis. By completing the attached Vial of LIFE
form, you can provide the emergency personnel with vital lifesaving
information, even if you are unable. It is very important that you keep
this information up to date, accurate, and placed in a prominent spot in
your refrigerator.“
In addition you may want to carry a MedicTag USB emergency medical information device when you leave the house. All your emergency information can be carried on your keyring.
The Vial of Life Program is designed to speak for you when you are unable to speak for yourself. The information contained within the vial will provide pre-hospital and hospital providers with essential details that will aid in providing appropriate medical treatment.
Best of all - it's FREE!!
